  • I clicked on our website to find out what we were doing to help Syrian refugees in the midst of this crisis only to find nothing. Instead, I got more of the self-promotion that has characterized our church now for far too long. Please give us help to fuel Christ's compassion in the world. I'm passionate about being a disciple of Christ. The Presbyterian Church, not as much. If that makes me a bad Presbyterian, so be it. But I know I'm not alone in my dismay, though many have already left the denomination--not just those against gay marriage but those who want the church to be doing something beyond selling itself. Help us help God heal the world in a timely fashion, please. I don't want my beloved church to feel so darn irrelevant. by on 09/04/2015 at 2:21 p.m.

  • Blessings upon you all! I will pray for you, for God to nourish you with lasting Hope, and a faith in His tireless Grace. In two days time, I visit a Presbyterian pastor here in South Florida to talk to him about the death penalty. (They kill people here in Florida.) The Presbyterian Church USA is unequivocal in its opposition to the death penalty, and for that I feel great respect for the title "Presbyterian." But I don't know what I'll encounter on February 25th when I meet with this pastor. God guide me, as I feel I am a witness to the suffering on the Cross! I do what I feel religiously led to do as a Christian. Jesus, let me maintain my faith and my focus on you as I endure again what may amount to being reviled and hated for my witness (Yes, even by a Christian minister!). by B.
