“Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life.’ ” —John 6:35

Facilitator for Joining Hands Network, El Salvador

Joining Hands is a program that builds bridges of solidarity between coalitions of churches in the United States and networks of overseas churches, grassroots groups and NGOs to address the inequities and suffering resulting from the spread of globalization around the world, through community education, advocacy, alternative economic activities, lifestyle changes and spiritual grounding. It aims at restoring the wholeness of God's creation and the healing of the human family through prayer, mutual visits, humble accompaniment, repentance and mutual transformation. Funds raised for this project will be used for the sending and support costs of a mission worker to facilitate close accompaniment of the Joining Hands network and its members in El Salvador and to act as a liaison between the network, the Presbyterian Hunger Program and Presbyterian World Mission and the partner presbyteries and congregations. As of July 2010, Kirsti Van Nostran is serving in this ministry.
