2013 International Peacemaker
IRAN
Rev. Mansour Khajehpour
Once filled with anger in the streets of Mashad, Iran, shouting "Death to America", in 1981 Mansour Khajehpour met the Prince of Peace. After converting to Christianity, he experienced imprisonment and discrimination for the following fifteen years while living and serving as a Christian Youth Leader and Elder. As his family members disowned him and left him wandering the streets, he made a commitment to do his best to help Iranian Christians who shared similar experiences. As a refugee in Athens, Greece, he remembered his commitment and renewed his promise. By God's grace and mercies, Mansour has kept that promise by assisting in the resettling of Iranian Christian refugees. In the past fifteen years, Rev. Mansour Khajehpour, a Presbyterian Pastor, has been able to assist numerous refugee families in their asylum seeking process through their adjustment periods in new countries. Currently he serves as pastor of Middle East Missions at Seattle First Presbyterian Church, which includes regular trips to the Middle East. The primary goal of these trips is to reach out to our voiceless sisters and brothers. He enjoys sharing stories of what God is doing among Iranians.
Pastor Mansour has served as a pastor of both Farsi (Persian) and English speaking congregations in different parts of the US, as well as teaching at Pars Theological Centre in London, UK. His wife, Nahid serves with the United Bible Societies as the Coordinator of Today's Persian Version of the Bible. Along with his wife, they have two wonderful children, Rebeka (17), and Matthew (12).
