PRODUCTS TO BOYCOTT

The products listed below includes major settlement products sold in the United States. The PC(USA) is currently focusing its attention on these products due to their widespread availability in the United States, but these are not the only Israeli companies who are based in the Palestinian Territories. For a more complete list search Who Profits, an Israeli organization providing corporate research related to Israel’s occupation of Palestine.

The UN helped Israelis and Palestinians divide this area between both peoples in 1947. However, since then both populations have increased, and Palestinian access to land has decreased.

KETER PLASTICS

Sold as Black & Decker Storage Building, SpaceRite Cabinets, Workmate storage containers, Lotemplast bath mats and Workforce.

Sold at Lowes, Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, TrueValue, BJ’s Wholesale, Target, Sears, Menards, PepBoys, Bed Bath & Beyond, Amazon.com.

Produced in the Barkan industrial zone and attached to the settlement of Ariel. Before its establishment, the Palestinian villages of Haris, Bruqin and Sarta were in that area. Waste from Barkan runs down the hillside, damaging Palestinian farmland. Palestinian laborers employed in the industrial zone are paid below the minimum legal wage.

Edushape toys

Sold at Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, Target, Sears, Bed Bath & Beyond, Amazon.com.

Produced in the Barkan industrial zone.

Ahava Dead Sea Laboratories

Sold at Wal-Mart, Target, Sears, Bed Bath & Beyond, Nordstrom, Macy’s, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Ulta Health & Beauty, Amazon.com, Birchbox.com, Zappos.com.

Produced in Mitzpe Shalem, an illegal settlement in the Palestinian West Bank. By producing products there, Ahava not only deprives Palestinians of their land, but also their much-needed water supply.

Concerned Consumer Cards

Give these cards to stores who stock products made in the settlements to raise awareness about the boycott. If possible, ask to speak with a manager and present this card, explaining your concerns. It’s particularly helpful to have your shopping cart or bags with you when you speak with a manager, or staple your receipt to the letter if a manager is not available. This in-person contact can be very useful, since it shows that you are a devoted consumer of other products who wants change from stores. Be sure to thank them for listening, and encourage them to pass on your message to higher management.
