The Office of African Emerging Ministries

One of the fastest growing membership groups in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) are African immigrants. In response to this rapidly increasing growth, the Office of African Emerging Ministries was created. This office supports these active, energetic and thriving ministries. This office works in collaboration with mid councils to develop and grow new African worshiping communities in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and resources existing congregations.

The African Emerging Ministries Office also provides leadership development opportunities for African teaching elders, ruling elders and women leaders, including African Presbyterian Women’s groups. Staff in the office collaborate with mid councils to develop resources and interpret the mission and ministry of African congregations and new worshiping communities through the church.
