미국장로교선교총회(Presbyterian Mission Agency, PCUSA)는 급속하게 변화하는 세계 속에서 개혁신앙에 토대한 장로교 선교를 어떻게 가장 역동적으로 수행해 나갈 것 인지 진지하게 기도하고 추구하면서 2013~2016년도 선교 목표를‘변화를 위한 지도 자’(Transformational Leader),‘긍휼에 찬 제자도’(Compassionate Discipleship), ‘천한 개의 새로운 예배공동체’(1001 Worshiping Communities), 그리고‘청년목회’ (Young Adult)로 정하고 선교총회의 모든 프로그램을 이 네 가지 목표에 집중하고 있 습니다.
총회한국어자료개발실이 속한‘회중사역출판부’(Congregational Ministries Publishing)는 특별히 변화를 위한 지도자와 긍휼에 찬 제자도에 사역의 초점을 두고 새로운 커리큘럼과 자료 개발에 박차를 가하고 있습니다. 이에 따라 총회한국어자료 개발실도 기존의 소그룹 성경공부 자료인「말씀과 함께」의 집필 원칙과 내용에 총회의 목표를 반영하도록 하였으며, 특별히 오랫동안 많은 이민교회들이 사용해 온「구역예 배 말씀」을「가정공동체 말씀」(Family Community)으로 새롭게 바꾸어 변화하는 한 인 이민교회의 목회 상황과 영적 필요를 반영하는 자료로 발전시키게 되었습니다.
또한‘개혁되는 신앙:이해를 추구하는 믿음’시리즈로「전도가 되는 예배」(Worship as Evangelism),「주기도문」(The Lord’s Prayer)에 이어「세례를 기억하기」(Re– membering Baptism),「하나님의 은혜 알아 가기」(Recognizing God’s Grace)를 번역 하여 출판하였으며, 계속해서 한인교회에 필요한 자료를 출판하려고 합니다. 또한 복음 전도와 정의를 통합하는 장로교 선교를 바로 알고 실천하기 위한 자료로 나오고 있는‘참 여’시리즈로「복음」(Gospel),「제자도」(Discipleship),「선교」(Mission)를 계속 선보이게 됩니다.
많은 변화가 예상되는 총회사역이지만 한인교회를 위한 교 육자료 출판을 적극 지원하는 총회에 감사드립니다. 특별히 총 회의 중요한 자료들을 한국말로 번역하는 사역을 위해 Korean Translation Coordinator office를 신설하게 되었다는 기쁜 소식 을 함께 나누며 총회 산하 한인교회들이 계속 총회의 선교를 위해 기도하고 지원하는 일에 더욱 힘써 주시기를 간절히 소원합니다.

21 세기 이민 한인교회를 위한 소그룹 성경공부의 새로운 장을 열게 된 「말씀과 함께」 성경공부 교재는 말씀과의 만남을 통한 삶의 변화를 촉구하는 “이야기식 (Narrative) 성경공부”이다. 「말씀과 함께」를 사용하는 교회는 말씀을 만나며 신앙과 인격이 성숙해지는, 그래서 생명력 있는 신앙공동체를 세우는 변화의 역사가 일어날 것이다.

Jesus in the Gospel of Mark
Mark is the earliest gospel written about AD 70 when Jerusalem was destroyed by Romans. The early church has some oral tradition of Jesus' ministries and teachings and Mark wanted to write as witness on suffering death of Jesus and his resurrection with his sayings, healing ministries and calling disciples. The gospel tells short but vivid stories of Jesus who is truly human being as well as truly Son of God.

창세기
주제: 하나님께서 만드신 세상에서 하나님과 함께 살기
창세기는 두 가지 근원적 시작 곧 세계의 시작과 이스라엘백성의 시작에 대해 말씀해 주고 있다. 이 두 가지 시작은 다같이 생명을 주시고 지으시는 하나님의 창조와 구원의 능력을 말해준다. 하나님은 인간을 그의 형상대로 지으시고 하나님과 인격적 관계를 가지는 존재로 만드시고 그가 지으신 세계를 관리하는 책임과 권리를 가지게하였다. 그런데 피조물로서의 자신의 한계를 벗어나 하나님의 말씀을 순종하지 않은데서 인간은 타락하게 되었다. 창세기이야기는 하나님께서 죄인인 인간을 구원하시기위해 한 사람, 곧 아브라함을 부르시고 그를 통해 한 민족을 이루시는 새로운 시작을 말씀하고 있다
Living Together in God’s Creation
We can find two fundamental beginnings in Genesis. The one is about the beginning of the world and the other one is the beginning of Israelite as a God's chosen people for salvation of fallen humanity. Both of these beginning stories tell about God's sovereign power and saving grace as the Creator who give life to all creatures and humanity.

시편공부
복된 성도의 아름다운 삶
시편의 중심 메시지는 그 결론인 시편 150편에 나오는데로 “ 너희는 하나님을 찬양하라”이다. 시편은 1편에서 “복있는 사람은” 이라는 문구로 시작하여 150편에서 “할렐루야”로 끝난다. 시편은 기도와 묵상의 책이면서 또한 찬양과 신령한 노래의 책이다. 하나님을 찬양하는 것이 가장 복되고 아름다운 삶이며 피조물인 인간의 최고의 본분이다.

요한 복음은 성육신하신 진리의 말씀이신 예수 그리스도의 참 하나님되심과 참 인간되심을 선포한다. 예수님은 하나님의 독생자이시며 “은혜와 진리가 충만하신 분 “이시다. 죄인인 인간을 구원하기 위해 이 땅에 오신 예수 그리스도는 저를 믿는자에게 영생과 생명을 주시는 권세를 가지신다. 은혜와 진리이신 예수 그리스도의 이야기는 땅에서 만난 하늘의 이야기이다.
Grace and Truth: Heavenly Story Encountered on Earth
John’s gospel proclaims that Jesus Christ is the true God and the true human. Jesus as the Word that was with God and became flesh shows the glory of God in full of grace and truth. Jesus Christ came to the world to save sinners and give eternal life to whom believes in him. The story of Jesus Christ is a heavenly story encountered on earth.

요한계시록: 어린 양 예수님과 교회의 승리
요한계시록은 소아시아 일곱교회에 보낸 요한의목회서신이다. 당시 그리스도인들은 로마황제를 구세주와 주로 부를 것인지 예수 그리스도를 구세주와 주님으로 부를 것인지 결단하지 않으면 안되는 어려운 상항가운데처해있었다. 저자 요한은 이러한 위기가운데 있는 그리스도인들에게 하나님은 예수 그리스도안에서 역사를 심판하시고 그리스도인은 승리의 왕으로 오시는 그리스도와 함께 새 하늘과 새 땅의 영광에 참여할 것 이라는 것을 묵시문학적 환상을 통해 말씀하고 있다.
Revelation: Jesus as a Lamb and Victory of His Church
Revelation is a pastoral letter by John sent to the seven churches in Asia Minor. Christians were under severe persecution. They were in rocks to decide whether they worship Roman emperor as their lord and savior or to keep their faith in Jesus Christ as their true Lord and Savior. John, the writer, encourages them to keep their faith in Jesus who is ruling history and will come to judge all principalities and evil powers. He describes this heavenly epic with apocalyptic vision that Christians will participate in glorious new heaven and new earth with victorious Christ.

The fall quarter studies Exodus, a decisive and historic event from which Israelites form their identity as people of God. The Israelites experience of redemptive living God at the Exodus is remembered throughout their history and becomes a unique paradigm of the Old Testament that emphasizes basic theme of oppression, crying out, sending deliverers, and praising and thanksgiving and pledging to keep covenant. The Leader’s Guide provides some idea and direction for discussion and sharing and is to be used in conjunction with the Student Book (item # 4151088).

The theme of 2014 summer Korean Present Word is 'Dawning Vision of Kingdom of God'. Acts covers stories of dynamic mission of the gospel that begins at Pentecost with empowering presence of the Holy Spirit toward the fulfilment of witnessing in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. We are all called to this great mission at this eschatological hour.

The study on 1st and 2nd Samuel is concentrated on David as a person who pleased God from his boy-hood to the end of life as a great king. The story of David is one of the most dramatic and impressive saga. However, we are not interested in his attractive characters and heroic adventure. The main theme of the study is to explore and reflect his deep and personal relationship with God. David trusted God with whole heart and obeyed God faithfully even in his weakness and defective character.
