A letter from John and Gwen Haspels in South Africa

December 2014 - Friends and Shareholders

“Joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified YOU to SHARE
in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light”
(Col. 1:12).

Gwen, finally out of hospital—further surgeries  planned for after arrival stateside

New Maja Church still under construction

Dear Friends and Shareholders,

On behalf of the Suri Church we want to take this opportunity at the end of 2014 to "JOYFULLY THANK" each of you for your partnership with us during the last 22 years.  The growing, thriving Suri Church is your inheritance.  This year has seen the birth of five new worshiping communities with more than 500 baptisms.  Bible translation and Suri literacy continue despite setbacks. Suri Baale literacy has begun and hopefully Bible translation in the near future.

We also want to thank each of you for your cards, prayers, and loving concern for us during the recent incident that landed us in a hospital in South Africa. After two months in a hospital bed Gwen was finally discharged to a cottage for a month of recuperation.  Further reconstructive surgeries and dental work will take place Stateside.  We thank you for praying and walking with us through “the valley of the shadow of death."

Together in His Service,
THE HASPELS

Double Your Impact!
A group of committed donors has pledged to match all gifts sent by individuals for mission personnel support now through December 31, 2014, up to $137,480.  This means your gift today will be matched by a gift to support mission personnel around the world, wherever the need is greatest. We invite you to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to double the impact of your gift. Thank you!
