A letter from Myoung Ho Yang and Ji Yeon Yoo in the U.S. prior to serving in China/Hong Kong

Summer 2014 - A New Stage of Life

Dear friends and family,

Myoung Ho teaching class

As many of you have known, God has given us an opportunity to begin a new stage of our lives. We have been appointed as mission co-workers to Hong Kong, China, through Presbyterian World Mission of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). For a few years Myoung Ho will serve as a professor of Liturgy and Sacred Music at the Divinity School of Chung Chi College at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Ji Yeon will work together with mission partners in Hong Kong.

It has long been our prayer and desire to serve as an instrument of God’s mission. It has been our song that “the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea” (Hab. 2:14). With this vision we left our jobs in Korea and came to the U.S.A. for theological education. Myoung Ho has sensed a calling to serve as a teaching missionary and Ji Yeon has had a vision to be a part of God’s mission since she was in high school. We believe that God has opened the door for us to do this mission service in God’s perfect time. Myoung Ho will teach in the Fall semester 2014, beginning in September. Ji Yeon will begin by learning the Chinese language while engaging in mission work with our partners there.

As we begin our mission service, we would like to thank you all for your prayers and heartfelt love that you have shown us. We ask you to continue to walk with us in faith as members of the Body of Christ and to do God’s mission as God’s co-workers, sharing the love of God. Your gifts of prayer support, your words of encouragement, and your financial contributions are what make God’s mission carry on. While we have limited time here since we will leave in the middle of August, we hope to visit you and share the stories of our call. Please contact us and send us your mailing address and preferred email address to hab214@gmail.com.

Our family

Our two sons, Samuel and John, will stay in the U.S.A. as college students. Please remember them in your prayers. Please keep in touch through letters, phone calls, or emails (hab214@gmail.com and iamjiyeon@hotmail.com).

Grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ to all of you.
Myoung Ho Yang and Ji Yeon Yoo in love.
