"This is my command: love one another" - John 15:17. Of every commandant we were given, this one speaks the loudest to me. It is so simple, yet we forget it all too often and focus on ourselves. I feel God has called me to completely abandon myself and live a life serving those who need it most. This YAV year in Colombia is my first step toward a full time career in humanitarian aide. I am one of those people who wants to "save the world." While I still don't fully accept the notion that I won't be able to, I am confident I'll be of great help.

I recently graduated with my bachelor of science in finance from Eller College of Management at The University of Arizona. It wasn't until the beginning of my senior year that I realized I didn't want to use my degree to further my own personal finances, but rather to help communities in need. In an effort to gain relevant experience, I was an active member of Students Consulting for Non-profit Organizations as well as Financial Managers Association. To actively serve others I spend many hours volunteering and ushering at my church at school. Although I was raised Catholic, I am currently a member of a non-denominational church. I feel that every denomination of Christianity has it's own unique value to bring to the table, and therefore would like to explore them all.

Fortunately, I have the best family in the world. While I understand many people claim this, I truly do. I'm the oldest of four intelligent siblings, with two incredibly supportive parents. Not only did they instill a strong foundation of God in my life at a young age, but they have taught me what I believe to be life's most valuable lesson: how to love one another.
