Equatorial Guinea
Mission worker: Jeff Boyd, regional liaison for Central Africa
Background
The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) celebrates more than 150 years of ministry in Equatorial Guinea. Our engagement has involved ministry through mission personnel and our partner church relationships. The PC(USA) joins its partners in Equatorial Guinea in a holistic approach to ministry that includes education and leadership development, community development, evangelism and new church development.
The only Spanish-speaking country in Africa south of the Sahara, Equatorial Guinea has recently found large deposits of oil and new opportunities for growth. A small church, the Iglesia Reformada Presbyterianna de Guinea Ecuatorial (IRPGE), seeks to be a strong witness for Christ through its schools and churches. Some of the very first PC(USA) missionaries to Africa began their ministry in what is known today as Equatorial Guinea.
Partner church
The PC(USA)’s partner church in Equatorial Guinea is Iglesia Reformada Presbiteriana de Guinea Ecuatorial (IRPGE).
