Letter from Sara Baltonado Mahecha in Costa Rica

April 22, 2013

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

Today, Earth Day, we celebrate the beauty and wonder of our planet, creation of our God, given to us as a gift with responsibility.

As you know, Guido retired three years ago, and I am retiring this month. This letter has the purpose of saying: Thanks from our hearts for your support of the mission of God in Latin America. We have served as pastors, counselors and theological educators.

It is a challenge to make a list of all the churches that have supported us with their offerings and prayers during more than 22 years as mission co-workers in Bolivia, Brazil and Costa Rica. We do not want to say a generic thank you, but to show that there are a lot of churches committed seriously, and for decades, to the mission of God overseas.  (See the list below.)

Now we are both retired, and with gray hair we look back and count the multiple blessings and look forward to continue serving the church in Costa Rica in different ways.

Please prayerfully consider continuing your support of God's mission in Latin America through Presbyterian World Mission.
