Get ready to 'Engage'
Engage is a new resource from the Office of Evangelism, that emphasizes the importance both social justice and faith sharing. Designed to connect evangelism with disciple making, Engage enters into the Jesus question "Who do you say that I am?" Focus groups are helping us refine Engage, so as you use it now please provide us with any feedback. A revised edition of Engage is expected in 2012.
Engage is an intensive, congregational resource designed to be used in three phases. Phases one and two, comprised of ten monthly gatherings, are for session members first and then wider church leadership. Phase three, designed as a six-week immersion experience, is for the congregation. This resource will help congregations learn practical ways of engaging in personal evangelism, as well as cultivating a culture of disciple making in their churches. As participants engage their own stories of personal transformation and God's story of redemption in scripture, churches will connect with their communities. Stay tuned for stories of growing disciples who serve others and share faith.
