A letter from Debbie Chase in Malawi

September 21, 2010

ADDENDUM TO SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER

Dear Friends,

Warm Greetings!

Since I sent my September newsletter I have received three brief updates for you:

The Synod of Livingstonia General Secretary the Rev. L. N. Nyondo’s court case scheduled for September 14 has been suspended by the Mzuzu Magistrate Court following an application by Nyondo’s attorney challenging the constitutionality of the alleged sedition offense. He remains out of jail on bail and has received permission to travel freely without having to seek the consent of the authorities. Thank you for your prayers, support and encouragement and please continue to keep this in prayer.

Please SEE the NEW CCAP Synod of Livingstonia website! It lists all presbyteries and ministers and tells about the history of the Synod and the work of some of the synod’s departments. Other departments will soon be added, including the College of Theology.

The University of Livingstonia graduation has tentatively been set for Saturday, October 23, 2010, at Livingstonia. There will be a Baccalaureate Service of Worship Friday evening. The College of Theology will have nine students (now serving in congregations) receiving the Bachelor of Theology degree.

Many thanks for your faithfulness in partnership! With you in Spirit!

Grace and Peace,

Debbie
