A letter from Yen Hee and Choon Lim in Taiwan
December 8, 2009
Dear Friends,
During Christmas season, we remember your faithful support and prayers for the Hualien Aboriginal Campus Ministry (HACM) in Taiwan. We deeply thank you for your mission-minded support.
As you know already, on April 25 and 26 this year we celebrated the tenth anniversary of the HACM. Ten years ago, we thought it was impossible to plant new Christian groups at two universities and four colleges in Hualien. But with the grace of God and the guidance of the Holy Spirit we planted them in two years. Of course, we met many difficulties and trials during this time, but your prayers helped us to overcome the obstacles. God has blessed us and our ministry more than we expected or planned.
Now we have 150 to 200 students participating in HACM. They have their own group activities in their schools during weekdays. On Saturdays, students come to the mission center for the “Gospel Coffee House” (free coffee and tea with free cookies). On Sundays, about 50 students come to the center to attend the college worship service. We have several annual programs: retreats for college students in the summer, fall, and winter; the gospel song contest; two praise nights at local churches; a volleyball and a basketball tournament; the new student welcoming party; a Christmas party, and more.
Since 3 percent of the population in Taiwan is Christian, we still have to work harder so that the rest of the people can hear and accept the good news—that the Son of God, Savior, and Emmanuel was born for them. Please continue to pray for the spreading of the gospel and the support of our ministry so that more people can have the peace of Christ who rules their hearts. Let this year be more blessed and have a merry Christmas!
