About Jay and Nancy Adams' ministry
Jay and Nancy Adams have a shared partnership appointment as school administrators and teachers at the Black Forest Academy (BFA) in Kandern, Germany, with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)’s World Mission, the Presbytery of the Twin Cities Area, and Hope Presbyterian Church in Richfield, Minnesota. Black Forest Academy is an intermission boarding school that primarily serves children of missionaries.

Nancy is supervisor of the Resource Center and serves as head librarian at BFA. She coordinates acquisitions for the library, helps students with research, and frequently hosts new BFA staff in the Adamses’ home. During her time at BFA she has taught English for all grades from nine through 12.

Jay is supervisor of the Personnel Office. He and his team recruit, enable and retain qualified men and women to teach and serve BFA students. In the past Jay has taught Bible and business classes as well.

Together, Jay and Nancy have been class sponsors and substitute dorm parents. They have led four evangelistic English camps as Christian outreach to teens in Germany, Poland, Slovakia and Italy.

About Jay and Nancy Adams
Jay and Nancy began their work at Black Forest Academy in 1992 and came under appointment as PC(USA) mission personnel in 1995.

Jay and Nancy are members of Hope Presbyterian Church in Richfield, Minnesota, where they taught Sunday school, led Bible studies, worked with international students and were active in family ministry before moving to Germany. Jay led a course called “Perspectives on the World Christian Movement,“ which he taught at Black Forest Academy as well. Nancy led “Search the Scriptures” for the women of Hope Presbyterian Church and participated in the International Women’s Ministry there.

Jay and Nancy both graduated from Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota. Jay received a B.S. in business administration and Nancy received a B.S. in English. Jay also has an M.A. degree in theological studies from Bethel Theological Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. Prior to leaving for Germany, Jay was president of Frontier Medical Inc. in Apple Valley, Minnesota.

The Adamses are the parents of four children. Josh is married to Meagan McIntosh. Katie is married to John Walker. Elizabeth is a college student in Florida. Christopher lives with Jay and Nancy in Germany.
