A letter from Leith and Carol Fujii in Thailand

April 2014

Dear Partners in God's Global Mission,

“What have you done? … Why on earth did you take on this last-minute project and involve such busy highly committed student leaders and ministry friends?"  Those were some of the nagging questions that I woke up to for the past month before Roll: A Missions Event.  I didn’t have a good answer, but just kept looking back to how God showed me a possibility and then kept opening doors and providing encouragement to keep going forward with the young team of students and dear ministry friends who came aboard!  And what a Ride it was—a ROLL- er-coaster, so to speak!

Great BIT mission team

Thanks be to God for those who prayed as a team of 20 BIT (Bangkok Institute of Theology) students worked together with us as this conference commenced on a Sunday evening, with a glorious time of worship and concerted prayer for revival!  It really helped to set the stage for the next full day of inspired teaching and testimonies, practical workshops, fun fellowship, and empowered worship together!  We were touched to see eight people come forward at the conclusion of the time, committing themselves to serve in world missions. Even though there were only around 70 participants at Roll—far short of our initial projection—it was plenty for our novice team to learn and train together doing an all-Thailand global missions event, involving speakers and participants from throughout the country. What a great team of BIT students God has raised up and what a privilege to work with them! We’re so proud of how they took on this leadership challenge by God’s grace.

As the missions leadership team celebrated and evaluated afterwards, we made it a point to not only reflect, but also look to the future.  The Roll Event may have concluded, but the movement to MOBILIZE THE THAI CHURCH FOR GLOBAL MISSION ENGAGEMENT must continue on.  We will continue to work and consider how to channel the blessings of Roll to flow together with other streams that God is springing up to revive and mobilize the entire Thai Church.

Thank you for your vital part in praying for this first missions event for young adults. Thank God with us for the speakers and workshop leaders who sacrificed much to participate with us!  Please pray for the missions movement to roll on!  Psalm 67:1-7.  Thanks again for your precious partnership in the Kingdom’s advancement!  Hallelujah…The Savior of the World has Risen, Indeed!

Rejoicing,

Leith and Carol Fujii
