Samantha Shaw
My name is Samantha Shaw, but I go by Sam! I am 22 years old. I grew up in Delaware, Ohio. I have attended First Presbyterian Church of Delaware for as long as I can remember. About 8 years ago, I started doing mission trips during my summer breaks with my youth group and I became very passionate about mission work through the Presbyterian Church. Those trips are what sparked my passion and interest for the YAV program.
I am a recent graduate of Ohio University; I earned a Bachelors degree in Communication Studies with a focus on Health Promotion. While attending Ohio University I spent a great deal of time with my community service organization working within the community of Athens, Ohio. I also had the opportunity to work at a Wellness Center on campus, which encouraged my love of health, and fitness.
In the months leading up to my YAV year I will be spending a lot of quality time with my loved ones, scratching items off my bucket list, and enjoying the beautiful summer months. I am looking forward to immersing myself in a different culture, spreading God’s love, and building relationships with new people. I am very excited to be part of the YAV family!
