Jordan Akin
My name is Jordan Akin. I am 22 years old. I grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas with the best older sister I could have asked for, and my wonderful parents. I went to Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. I graduated in May of 2014 with a B.A. in Religious Studies. My home church, Second Presbyterian in Little Rock, has supported me and my dreams immensely. I am thankful to have such an awesome church family.
I love the mountains, my chacos, hiking, swimming, chocolate, hammocking and I am a big Presbyterian nerd. I have known about and wanted to be involved with YAV since I was in high school. My older sister was a YAV in Nashville a couple of years ago. Seeing and hearing about her experiences during her YAV year strengthened my want to be involved with this program. I am extremely excited to go to a place in which I have never been and have a life changing experience with my fellow YAVs.
