Samantha Smith
My name is Sammie Smith and I am 22 years old. I am from Franklin, IN and I am graduating from Indiana State University in May 2016 with a degree in chemistry. I will be a YAV in Asheville, NC for the 2016-2017 year. I have worked as a summer camp counselor and adventure coordinator at Camp Pyoca, the greatest place in the world. I love all things outdoors including relaxing in my hammock, hiking, camping, and doing high ropes courses. I first learned about the YAV program when I was in middle school and my camp counselor told us about his experience and I have been interested in it ever since. I am a very plan oriented person, so my plan as of now is to attend seminary after completing my time with the YAV program. I'm very excited to see what will become of my time in Asheville!
